How Many Exercises Per Workout? Why 5 Beats 12

Today's Lesson: A crowded workout is usually a weak one.

You've got twelve exercises on your list. Three sets each. By exercise eight you're rushing, resting less, using momentum, and mostly just trying to finish.

Here is what actually happened: you didn't train hard. You got tired. Those are different things, and only one of them builds muscle.

The Fix: fewer exercises, done with full effort and full range of motion.

Five movements covers you: press with your legs, push, pull, hinge, carry. Do those well and you've trained your whole body.

So this week, cut your list in half and put the effort into what's left. That's it.

That's today's lesson: Fewer exercises, more effort in each one.

Want someone to build those five movements around your actual week? Book a 30-minute call with one of our coaches and we'll talk through what your week actually looks like.

Already training with focus instead of volume? Keep it exactly like that, these lessons come either way.

P.S. Finishing a workout and training a workout aren't the same thing :)
