Does Soreness Mean a Good Workout? Track This Instead
Today's Lesson: Soreness was never proof that a workout worked.
You finish a lift feeling fine the next morning, no soreness, so you assume it didn't count and pile on extra sets to "make it count" next time.
Here is what actually happened: Your body adapted, that's not regression, that's the whole point of training. Chasing soreness just adds fatigue without adding results.
The Fix: Track performance, not soreness
Log the weight, the reps, how the lift actually felt. Those numbers tell you if you're progressing, soreness doesn't.
So when a workout doesn't wreck you, check the numbers before you assume it failed. That's it!
Today's Lesson: Soreness fades. Progress is what actually counts.
