Toning isn't a thing. Here's why.
Today's Lesson: "Toning" isn't something your body can actually do.
You want to look toned, not bulky. So you pick light weights, high reps, and a lot of cardio, because that's what toning is supposed to look like.
Here is what actually happened: there is no toning. There is building muscle, and there is losing fat. "Toned" is just what those two look like at the same time.
The Fix: lift enough to build muscle. Eat in a way that slowly reduces fat. That's the whole recipe.
Light weights for endless reps build very little. Pick a weight that is genuinely hard by the last few reps.
So stop training for a word. Train for muscle and let the look follow. That's it.
That's today's lesson: Build muscle, lose fat. There is no third thing.
Want a plan built to actually add muscle, instead of chasing a word? Talk it through with one of our coaches. It's a 30-minute call to see what fits you.
Already lifting heavy enough to make it count? Good. These lessons keep coming regardless.
P.S. Worried about getting bulky? That takes years of deliberate effort. It doesn't happen by accident :)
